Other Bromeliads

In this section you will find the following:

Abromeitiella are tiny plants that form dense clusters and are native to southern Bolivia and northern Argentina. Plant in sandy well-drained soil with some added pebbles to facilitate drainage.

Acanthostachys are terrestrial Bromeliads with long thin leaves that seem to be only a collection of spines. They are native to Paraguay and a few other South American countries and consist of only a few species. Cultivate as you would Dyckia and Hechtia.

Cryptbergia are hybrids of Cryptanthus and Billbergia and do not exist in the wild. As a terrestrial Bromeliad they form dense clumps and have flowers, usually white, that sit down inside the cup.
Plant your Cryptbergia in humus rich soil and water well during the growing season.

Neoglaziovia are native to the arid regions of northern Brazil and resemble Sansevieria more than Bromeliads. They have long leaves with stripes or crossbanding and make an interesting statement in any succulent collection. Plant in well-drained soil in sun or part shade.
