Annie's Magic Garden :: Deuterocohnia

Deuterocohnia

Deuterocohnia consists of 9 species and 2 cultivars and are rosette forming terrestrial Bromeliads. All have many leaves is loose formation with heavily spined leaf edges, resembling Hechtia more than Dyckia. Deuterocohnia do not die after flowering and often rebloom on the same flower spike. The sizes range from the tiny D. brevifolia only a few inches across to huge plants with broad leaves and the size of large Dyckia or Hechtia.

Grow your Deuterocohnia as you would a Dyckia or Hechtia in well-drained humus rich soil with added pebbles, perlite, hardwood bark or other material to facilitate drainage. Keep in bright light or part sun and water moderately in spring and summer letting it dry between waterings in the winter.
