Deuterocohnia brevispicata could easily pass for a Hechtia with it's broad, stiff, apple-green leaves armed with nasty red teeth. It is native to the state of Chusquisaca, Bolivia and was found near Serrania Inca Huasi, above Muyupampa. Brevispicata sends up thick spikes and blooms gorgeous tubular red flowers with lime green petals at the tips.
