Flame Vine - Senecio confusus

Flame Vine aka "Mexican Flame Vine", Senecio confusus, is a vigorous twining vine that
can grow to 20', shorter in cooler climates. In summer it is covered with flaming orange flowers and blooms from early summer to frost. Listed as a tropical, mine here in zone 8b has come back from it's roots for several years and is hardy to at least 20 degrees with root protection. Loving heat and sun or part shade, produces vibrant orange daisy-like flowers all summer until frost.

Plant in moderately fertile to poor soil in full sun, even in the south! Heat and humidity OK. Where not hardy, grow in a large pot with a trellis or on a fence and cut to bring inside in winter. Doesn't mind
pruning one bit.
